On March 12, leaders of the People's Committee of Lang Son province inspected the site clearance and construction of the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang border gate expressway project.

At the meeting, Director of the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board Bui Quoc Khanh informed that the People's Committees of districts and cities have handed over 50.61/59.87km of the total length of the route to the project enterprise. The districts and cities are speeding up the work of moving technical infrastructure within the project's site clearance area.

The project enterprise is constructing items within a range of about 50.61/59.87km with complete procedures.

Along the entire route, the contractor mobilized a total of 1,093 workers, more than 520 pieces of machinery and equipment, 43 construction teams for site clearance, roadbed excavation, drainage culverts, underpasses, bored piles, bridge girders, etc.

Total disbursed capital value reached more than 1,151 billion VND.

The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang border gate expressway project is currently facing many difficulties and obstacles in site clearance. The unfinished construction of the resettlement area has somewhat affected the overall progress of this work.

In addition, the relocation of affected technical infrastructure works on the route at some locations is still slow. At the same time, on the project enterprise side, the implementation of technical design and construction progress is still slow compared to the handed over area...

Directing at the inspection of site clearance and construction organization of the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang border gate expressway project, comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province emphasized: This is a key project, playing an important role, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province and the region. Therefore, localities in the project area together with relevant departments, branches, agencies and units must focus on solving arising issues related to site clearance to hand over the entire site of this expressway in March 2025.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province directed the inspection session.

In March 2025, the city and districts in the project area will coordinate with relevant agencies, units, investors, and enterprises to urgently relocate technical infrastructure such as power lines, telecommunication cables, water lines, etc. In addition, localities will urgently study plans and arrange temporary accommodation for affected people, because the project facilitates site clearance while waiting for resettlement arrangements.

Project enterprises need to identify and mark boundaries to facilitate local authorities and authorities to clear the remaining areas. At the same time, contractors need to increase machinery and construction personnel in “3 shifts, 4 shifts” to ensure project progress and have enough volume to accelerate capital disbursement.

The construction unit took advantage of favorable weather to immediately construct the locations and sections where the ground was available, especially the bridge locations with large volumes. The functional agencies of Lang Son province increased inspection, urged the construction progress, supervised the quality and regulations on labor safety, environmental sanitation, etc.

The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang border gate expressway project started construction in April 2024, implemented in the districts of Chi Lang, Cao Loc, Van Lang and Lang Son city. The total length of 59.87km includes: The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang border gate expressway is about 43.43km long and the route connecting Tan Thanh border gate and Coc Nam border gate is about 16.44km long. The total investment is more than 11,000 billion VND. According to the plan, this expressway will be completed in 2026.
