On the morning of August 14, at the 25th session, the 10th term People's Council of Quang Nam province elected the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
Delegates voted to elect Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, former Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police, to hold the position of Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung was elected Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province.
As a result, 47/47 delegates present agreed to elect Mr. Dung to hold the above position.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung (57 years old), from Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province; professional qualification: People's Security University; Senior political theory.
Before being elected as Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung held important positions in the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department such as: Deputy Head of the Investigation Security Department; Deputy Head of Nong Son District Police; Head of the Political Protection Department; Head of the Staff Department; Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department.
On November 8, 2019, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung held the position of Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police.
In February 2020, Mr. Dung was promoted by the President from Colonel to Major General.
On July 22, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung was elected as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.
Previously, in April 2024, at the 21st session, the People's Council of Quang Nam province dismissed Mr. Phan Viet Cuong from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
