Within the framework of the Korean MICE Tourism Conference in Da Nang, many meetings and exchanges were held to promote MICE tourists such as: direct meetings and exchanges between representatives of Vietnamese and Korean tourism and travel businesses, opening up many cooperation opportunities for all parties; the "Korean MICE Tourism" night is an event to share attractive support policies from KTO for the Vietnamese market and special art performances by artists from Korea.

Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnam KTO in implementing activities to promote Korean tourism in Vietnam. The KTO is always ready to support Vietnamese tourism businesses in welcoming Korean tourists and bringing Vietnamese tourists to Korea. On July 18 in Seoul, the Vietnam Tourism Association and the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two associations, opening a new chapter in cooperation between tourism businesses of the two countries.

"We hope that with the support of the State tourism management agencies of the two countries and the close cooperation of the two Associations, we will better support the activities of tourism businesses, contributing to promoting the exchange of guests between tourism businesses of the two countries," Mr. Vu The Binh shared.

According to Mr. Lee Jae Hoon - Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, through the Korea MICE Roadshow 2024 event, it is possible to connect Vietnamese and Korean tourism and travel agencies in the most effective way. At the same time, introduce attractive support policies from KTO for Korean tourists in general and MICE tourism in particular.

"In the coming period, we will actively promote and advertise Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market to contribute to promoting tourism exchange between Vietnam and Korea," Mr. Lee Jae Hoon emphasized.

It is known that KTO has carried out many special activities to promote Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market. Notably, it organized a workshop on product development and support policies for travel companies, the 2023 International Tourism Fair VITM, the ITE HCMC International Tourism Fair, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen relations with Vietnamese partners such as the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Vingroup, Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA)...

In particular, the Korea Travel Festa 2024 event held last May attracted nearly 100,000 interested people to attend the event.

With the promotion activities, by the end of June 2024, Korea welcomed more than 293,000 Vietnamese tourists with the number of visitors increasing steadily every month, reaching nearly 90% compared to the same period in 2019 (before the Covid-19 pandemic), showing that the recovery of Korean tourism after the pandemic is showing a positive trend.

In addition to the recovery of Korean tourism in general, Korean MICE incentive tourism is also showing its position as one of the attractive corporate incentive meeting locations for international incentive tourists, including Vietnam. In 2023, the number of Vietnamese visitors choosing Korea as a destination for incentive tourism reached 41,000, reaching 56% over the same period in 2019 and nearly triple the number of visitors compared to the same period in 2022.
