District 1 gives Tet gifts worth 4.6 billion VND to 3,000 disadvantaged students

On the afternoon of January 20, the People's Committee of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City presented Tet gifts worth more than 4.6 billion VND to 3,000 disadvantaged students in the district.

On the afternoon of January 20, at the program "Thien Bao - A Fragrant Tet", the People's Committee of District 1 (HCMC) presented 3,000 Tet gifts, each worth more than 1.5 million VND, to disadvantaged students and students with special circumstances in the district. The total value of the gifts was more than 4.6 billion VND, sponsored by a confectionery company.

Notably, not only students from public kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools, but also many non-public kindergarten students received Tet gifts this time (according to the People's Committee of District 1, non-public primary and secondary schools in District 1 do not have disadvantaged students).

Speaking at the Tet gift giving ceremony, Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa - Vice Chairwoman of District 1 People's Committee - said: "The gifts are not only material support but also a valuable source of spiritual encouragement for disadvantaged students in the district to continue to strive to study and improve in life.

Teachers, family and society always believe in your efforts, always accompany you to create the best conditions for you. Please believe that all your efforts are appreciated and are the foundation to overcome all challenges."

Meaningful Tet gifts

As one of the students receiving Tet gifts in the program "Thien Bao - A Fragrant Tet", Giang Thi Thanh Thao, a student of class 7A3 at Chu Van An Secondary School (District 1), expressed in a choked voice: "On behalf of the students today, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the teachers, leaders of District 1 People's Committee and donors who have given us warm feelings every time Tet comes and spring comes.

Although each of us has different circumstances, we always receive love and care from leaders, teachers and benefactors. These shared feelings help us feel more confident in life, and are a great source of motivation for us to realize our dreams."
