Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) issued Decision No. 2062/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing a program to support research, restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction in Kon Tum, Dien Bien, Quang Binh and Lam Dong provinces.

The decision clearly states that in the third and fourth quarters of 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports of Kon Tum, Dien Bien, Quang Binh and Lam Dong provinces to conduct research, restore and preserve fine traditional cultures such as folk songs, folk dances, folk performing arts, traditional crafts that are at risk of fading away and losing the identity of the Xo Dang, Ba Na, Phu La, Chut, Bru-Van Kieu and Ma ethnic groups.
Specifically, the organization supports research, restoration, preservation, and promotion of the intangible culture of the Ba Na ethnic group in Dak Ha district and the Xo Dang ethnic group in Kon Ray district, Kon Tum province; the organization supports research, restoration, preservation, and promotion of the intangible culture of the Phu La ethnic group in Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province; the organization supports research, restoration, preservation, and promotion of the intangible culture of the Chut ethnic group in Minh Hoa district and the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province; the organization supports research, restoration, preservation, and promotion of the intangible culture of the Ma ethnic group in Bao Lam district, Lam Dong province.
The implementation content includes survey, investigation, statistics, and information collection of intangible cultural forms; Developing research content: overview of current situation, assessment of current situation, development of data reports, investigation and survey reports, synthesis reports; proposing solutions to preserve and promote intangible cultural forms.
Organize training courses on preservation, teaching, performance, and reproduction of intangible culture; support equipment, musical instruments, and props; organize photography, video recording, and documentary filmmaking on the process of organizing the preservation of intangible culture; print DVDs and distribute them to people to serve the work of preserving and promoting traditional culture of ethnic minorities...
This is an annual activity of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on the preservation and promotion of traditional culture of ethnic minorities, contributing to effectively promoting investment resources of the State and society, proposing solutions to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities associated with effective tourism development in Kon Tum, Dien Bien, Quang Binh and Lam Dong provinces.
Through this, we aim to strengthen national solidarity, especially for the young generation through cultural activities, teaching folk songs, folk dances, traditional crafts, cultural rituals imbued with the identity of each ethnic group; creating conditions for the community to exchange, have healthy entertainment from their traditional cultural values.
From there, raise awareness of the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, promote the role of cultural capacity of artisans, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people and ethnic minorities in ethnic minority areas in the current period.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requires that the organization of support for research, restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities must ensure practicality, effectiveness and suitability to the actual situation of the locality.
The activities aim to encourage and motivate ethnic minorities to actively participate in activities to preserve traditional cultural identities; promote the role of ethnic minorities in replicating the model of preserving good traditional cultures of ethnic minorities in Kon Tum, Dien Bien, Quang Binh and Lam Dong.
