Phu Yen focuses on investing in IT infrastructure and human resources

According to the Department of Information and Communications of Phu Yen, after 10 years of implementing Resolution 36 of the Politburo, the province has achieved some outstanding results such as: 100% of communes, wards and towns have been connected to fiber optic cables to the center; 3G, 4G phone coverage to villages and hamlets; the rate of mobile subscribers using smartphones reached 76%; households with broadband fiber optic internet connection reached 72.31%.

Digital platforms and shared software are put into operation, effectively promoting management and operation, connecting with systems of ministries and branches; the quality of service for people and businesses is improved.

Some fields such as education, healthcare, transportation, electricity, urban infrastructure, etc. have gradually applied information technology. Enterprises have proactively innovated management work and applied advanced technology in production.

At the meeting, Phu Yen province proposed that the Ministry of Information and Communications pay attention to supporting the identification of indicators related to digital economy and digital society for which the locality does not have calculation data or is still weak to have a basis for management and direction; recommend to the province some contents that need to be focused on to complete the transition to digital government by 2025; support the province in analyzing and evaluating indicators in the DTI assessment index and make recommendations for the province to soon enter the good group in digital transformation solutions; support automatic report creation tools, and at the same time allow Phu Yen to participate in pilot programs to deploy digital transformation solutions that the Ministry of Information and Communications is implementing...

Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long highly appreciated the direction of implementing Resolution 36 of the Politburo of Phu Yen province over the past 10 years.

At the same time, the province is requested to focus on investing in information technology infrastructure, promoting digital transformation to the people, so that people can accompany the local government; increase human resources for digital transformation, and accelerate the implementation of solutions to ensure network security.

Regarding the proposals and recommendations of the province, the Ministry will synthesize and advise the Government to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles of the locality, as well as serve the construction of the two upcoming projects of the Politburo./.
