On August 1, in Da Nang City, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha led a working delegation of the 14th Party Congress's Socio-Economic Subcommittee to have a working session with localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions.
At the meeting, leaders of provinces and cities presented their opinions and recommendations to the working group on new development drivers and breakthroughs in the coming years. Some local leaders proposed early investment in high-speed railways to facilitate travel and socio-economic development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, said that looking back at the geographical length of the entire region from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan, it is very difficult for localities to reach each other due to limited air connections.
According to Mr. Quang, currently the whole country has been building a highway system, and if we want to develop tourism, to develop it even faster, we need to have a high-speed railway and divide it into sections and routes for investment.
The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee proposed that the National Assembly should approve the development of a high-speed railway connecting localities in the region.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Thai Thanh Quy, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province, said that we are currently building a highway, and in the near future we need to invest in a high-speed railway. At the same time, we need to pay special attention to the cross-border routes connecting the East to the West to strengthen regional connectivity...

According to Binh Thuan Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hoai Anh, in the coming term, it is necessary to promote institutional innovation, promptly remove current obstacles to unlock resources, and strengthen pilot mechanisms to promote the region's advantages. At the same time, focus on investing in strategic transport infrastructure; make breakthroughs in digital infrastructure.
"The State needs to focus on providing appropriate support so that both state-owned and private enterprises have products capable of reaching out to the world," Mr. Anh suggested.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions to renew the contents and tasks stated in the documents of the 14th Party Congress.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that regional planning poses many problems. It is best to jointly select common projects and tasks of the region in the planning to choose consultants to build the planning well...
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, high-speed railways connecting the North and the South, high-speed railways connecting international areas, and railways connecting urban areas are very necessary. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that provinces and cities need to further promote the potential, advantages, and differences of each locality as well as the common advantages of the North Central and Central Coast regions.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that from now until 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Central localities need to focus on breakthrough development in areas such as science and technology, artificial intelligence, and training of high-quality human resources...
