44-year-old associate professor becomes vice director of Hanoi National University

On August 2, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision to appoint Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to hold the position of Vice Rector of Hanoi National University for a term of 5 years.

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, 44 years old, from Hai Phong, received his PhD in sociology in 2010. He was appointed associate professor of sociology in 2016.

He is an expert in the field of policy research and analysis; science, technology and innovation management.

With his contributions to training and developing human resources for science and technology management, building and developing postgraduate training programs on science and technology management in Vietnam, Mr. Truong received the "For the cause of science and technology" medal from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017, and received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister in 2020.

He has held many important leadership and management positions such as: head of the department of science and technology management, head of the faculty of management science, director of the Institute of Policy and Management (Key Research Center of Hanoi National University); vice principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities...

Currently, the director of Hanoi National University is Prof. Dr. Le Quan. The four deputy directors include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu.
