Petrolimex announced the decision to establish Son La Petroleum Company

On July 28, 2024, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) held a ceremony to announce the decision and launch Son La Petroleum One Member Co., Ltd. (Petrolimex Son La/Company).

Attending the launching ceremony, on the side of Son La province, there were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thai Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial agencies and enterprises Le Hong Chuong and Vice Chairmen of the province, leaders of departments, branches, leaders of district Party Committees and People's Committees of districts in the province.

On the Petrolimex side, there were Board of Directors member Tran Tuan Linh, Acting Chairman and Director of Petrolimex Son La Pham Ba Tien, leaders of the Group's Boards; leaders of the Group's subsidiaries/companies, partners, customers and officers and employees of Petrolimex Son La.

Son La Petroleum Company, with 100% charter capital held by Petrolimex, was separated from Son La Petroleum Branch under Ha Son Binh Petroleum Company according to Decision No. 465/PLX-QD-HDQT dated June 5, 2024 of the Board of Directors of the Group. The establishment of Son La Petroleum Company is one of the initial successes of the "Project to restructure Vietnam Petroleum Group for the period 2021 - 2025, vision to 2035" as well as the attention of the Group's leaders to bring the Petrolimex brand with green products to the highlands, remote areas, and isolated areas to serve people's lives and develop the socio-economy in the area of ​​operation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong affirmed that the establishment of Son La Petroleum Company is in line with the province's policy of gradually building and upgrading Son La Petroleum Branch to a new level, better meeting the requirements of the task, contributing to ensuring national defense and security, and socio-economic development of the province.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Petrolimex Board of Directors member Tran Tuan Linh congratulated, directed and oriented the activities of Petrolimex Son La to continue to closely follow the goals when establishing the company, completing the 2024 business plan based on the Group's orientations and policies as well as the Company's commitments when separating. Focus on investing in developing the retail gas station network, expanding distribution channels according to the Group's new orientations according to modern standards, automation, digital transformation to improve convenience when serving customers. At the same time, proactively perfecting the human resources apparatus, internal management, strictly implementing legal regulations, minimizing risks in business and the Company's operations.

On behalf of the staff of Petrolimex Son La, Acting Chairman and Director Pham Ba Tien pledged to unite with the leadership and employees of the Company, seriously absorb and implement the instructions of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Son La Province and the instructions of the Group's leaders. In addition, the Company will strive to excellently complete the tasks and plans assigned by the Group, ensuring the best response to all needs for petroleum sources for socio-economic development and consumption of the people in the area, contributing highly to the local budget; especially successfully completing the objectives of the Project to establish the Company approved by the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises.

Also at the Ceremony, Petrolimex presented the following personnel decisions: Appointing the Director, handing over the Chairmanship of Petrolimex Son La to Mr. Pham Ba Tien; appointing 02 Deputy Directors of the Company, Head of Financial Accounting Department and Head of the Company's Business Department.

As a state-owned enterprise with many important contributions to the national economy and energy security, Petrolimex always pays attention to community responsibility and social security work in the process of sustainable development, to further the Group's progress. At the ceremony, Petrolimex donated 3 billion VND to the disadvantaged districts of Van Ho, Yen Chau and Bac Yen.
