On August 7, 2024, Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City signed Official Dispatch No. 4811/SGDĐT-KTKĐ, regarding the verification of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's supplementary high school diploma.

Accordingly, on July 30, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City had a working session with the Inspection Delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs to verify the learning process of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet.

During the working session, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training coordinated with the inspection team to review all records, including the list of candidates who graduated from supplementary high school, the list of names and scores of all candidates who took the exam on June 6, 1989.

At the end of the inspection process, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed the results of the review of the high school graduation exam records of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (born in 1959) as follows: Not on the list of candidates, the score sheet of the 1989 high school graduation exam of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City. Not on the list of candidates granted high school graduation certificates of the 1989 high school graduation exam of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, on June 25, Hanoi Law University sent a press release to media agencies, informing about the doctoral training process of student Vuong Tan Viet. The fact that Venerable Thich Chan Quang obtained his doctoral degree within 2 years while previously only having a part-time university degree in law, caused a stir in public opinion.

Accordingly, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Foreign Languages, now Hanoi University; a second degree in law in the form of part-time study from Hanoi Law University. After that, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet was admitted to the Hanoi Law University for postgraduate study, and after more than 2 years of training, he was awarded a doctorate.

Hanoi Law University affirms that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's admission to the doctoral program and his doctoral degree were in accordance with the law.
