Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, has just signed a document to send to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the verification of the high school diploma of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (born in 1959, also known as Venerable Thich Chan Quang).

According to the document, on July 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training had a working session with the inspection team of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs to approve the letter of introduction to verify the learning process of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training coordinated with the inspection team to review all records, including the list of candidates who graduated from supplementary high school and the list of names and scores of all candidates who took the exam on June 6, 1989.

At the end of the inspection process, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City determined that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's name was not on the list of candidates and the score sheet of the 1989 supplementary high school graduation exam of the Department. Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's name was also not on the list of candidates awarded the supplementary high school graduation certificate on June 6, 1989 of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, social media was abuzz with suspicions related to the doctorate of Venerable Thich Chan Quang at Hanoi Law University. The Ministry of Education and Training requested a report on the recruitment and training process for the doctoral student - Venerable Thich Chan Quang. A representative of Hanoi Law University said that Venerable Thich Chan Quang had completed his doctoral program ahead of schedule and defended his thesis in December 2021.
