B-girl Ami, won the 1-1 dance battle series held on August 9 at the La Concorde urban sports complex and won the final with a score of 3-0 against Lithuanian athlete Nicka.

Japan's Ami Yuasa has become the first Olympic breakdancing champion in history when the dance sport makes its debut at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
The 25-year-old, who goes by the stage name B-girl Ami, won the 1-1 dance battle on August 9 at the La Concorde urban sports complex and finished 3-0 against Lithuanian athlete Nicka.
At this year's Olympics, breakdancing is being held in a competition that is true to its hip-hop roots, with MCs stirring up the crowd and DJs playing background music for B-girls competing under stage names.
The music is selected by the DJ and the participants are not known in advance. A panel of 9 judges scores and determines the winner of each battle.
The competition began with 16 dancers divided into groups of four, competing to select the top 8 to advance to the quarter-finals.
Japan and the US are considered two strong teams in this sport. While the US is considered the "homeland" of breakdancing, Japan won two gold medals in the women's singles and mixed team events at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina./.
