On the afternoon of August 8 (Hanoi time), rower Nguyen Thi Huong of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation entered the C-1 200m Canoeing event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is the last athlete representing Vietnam to compete in this year's tournament. In the qualifying round, Nguyen Thi Huong started in Lane 4. With a modest result of 49 seconds 74, Nguyen Thi Huong ranked 6/6 and entered the Quarterfinals (playing for a ticket) of this event. The 22-year-old rower competed in the Quarterfinals in the first round with 5 other athletes and she continued to finish 6th with a time of 49 seconds 09. In this round, only the top 2 rowers qualified for the Semifinals and therefore Nguyen Thi Huong was eliminated.
Thus, another Olympic Games, Vietnam Sports closed the journey without any medals. Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh was the most successful Vietnamese athlete at this year's Games. However, she only finished 4th in the women's 10m air pistol event and reached the final of the women's 25m sport pistol event.
