Nhon - Cau Giay Metro breaks all records of elevated railway in Vietnam

The Nhon - Cau Giay Metro line is 8.5 km long, 2/3 shorter than the route, but the number of passengers recorded in the first 4 days was over 250,000, much higher than that recorded on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line.
According to statistics from Hanoi Metro Company Limited, the number of passengers on August 8 was over 34,000; on August 9 it was over 52,000; on August 10 it was over 66,000. And the peak was on August 11, the Nhon - Cau Giay urban railway (Metro) section welcomed over 100,000 passengers, bringing the total passenger volume in the past 4 days to over 250,000. According to a representative of Hanoi Metro (the unit assigned to operate both the Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro lines), this number has far exceeded all estimates and expectations. Previously, at the same time, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line (Metro line) of the country, on its peak day (May 1, 2023) only reached over 58,000 passengers.
Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro (elevated section from Nhon - Cau Giay) set a record with over 250,000 passengers traveling from August 8 - 11.
It is worth mentioning that the Nhon - Cau Giay route only passes through 8 stations, is 8.5 km long, and has a route equal to 2/3 of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route. With a shorter route, the number of passengers is much higher, showing the effectiveness of the project. Dr. Vu Hong Truong, General Director of Hanoi Metro said: The project was surprised by the attraction of the new Nhon - Cau Giay route. That shows that Metro is increasingly being interested in and trusted by people. If calculating the average number of passengers at a station, at peak times, the Nhon - Cau Giay route welcomes about 12,500 passengers, each train averages 320.5 passengers and operates safely. Although the route is only 8.5 km short, the Nhon - Cau Giay Metro route passes through 11 universities: Hanoi University of Industry; University of Commerce; Hanoi Pedagogical University; Academy of Journalism and Communication; University of Transport and 6 member schools of Vietnam National University, Hanoi are University of Foreign Languages; University of Economics; University of Medicine and Pharmacy; University of Education; University of Law.
According to the decision of the Hanoi People's Committee, the ticket price for a single-station railway line is 8,000 VND and for the whole route is 12,000 VND/trip. The daily ticket of 24,000 VND is valid for one day and has no limit on the number of trips. The general monthly ticket is 200,000 VND/month; priority for students is 100,000 VND/month. Group tickets are 140,000 VND/month. The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line implements a free ticket policy for priority groups such as children under 6 years old, meritorious people, the elderly over 60 years old, and people with disabilities. Through the days of experiencing along the route, people's feedback shows that the stations are crowded with passengers, but the railway staff have shown professionalism in regulating well, Hanoi Metro leaders are on duty 100% of the time on the line to direct and support staff and workers. According to Hanoi Metro, it is expected that from August 12, the number of passengers using the Nhon - Cau Giay train to go to school or work will increase and remain stable.
