The highlight of the event was the world’s largest Sichuan-style spicy hotpot. Measuring an impressive 13.8m in diameter, 3.2m high and covering a surface area of ​​149m2, the giant stainless steel pot can serve 138 people at once.

The organizers said the hot pot used up to two tons of ingredients, including thousands of dried chili peppers. To create the giant pot, workers had to work continuously for eight days, at a cost of about 80,000 yuan (280 million VND).

Visitors to the festival will be given a set of bowls and chopsticks, then stand around the pot, dipping food into the broth cooked in Sichuan hot pot style.

While the guests are eating, the chefs continue to add more spicy spices to the pot of water to ensure the flavor does not change. Those who have finished eating will make way for the next guests.
