Convenient when buying bus tickets

Ms. Le Thi Hong Nhung, Head of Ticket Sales, Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company, Cao Lanh - Hong Ngu branch (Dong Thap) said that since the beginning of August, the company has organized the sale of bus tickets to passengers using a cashless method.

"To do this, the company has arranged two devices to sell bus tickets to passengers by directly operating and paying online on these two devices," said Ms. Nhung.

Ms. Nhung added that to be able to pay online, when passengers come here, they only need a few steps such as choosing a trip, choosing a route and entering personal information as required by the device to be able to buy a bus ticket.

"Payment on these two devices is also quite simple, passengers just need to use a smartphone and install additional applications such as Futa, Vnpay, Zalopay... to be able to pay easily," Ms. Nhung added.

According to Ms. Nhung, after nearly a week of implementing cashless bus ticket payments, the number of passengers buying tickets directly at the ticket counter has decreased by more than 20% compared to before.

"The company implemented cashless ticket payment on August 1. For passengers who do not know how to pay, the company will send someone to assist," Ms. Nhung shared.

Previously, to buy a bus ticket to go to the hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Huynh Cam Hong (45 years old, living in Dong Thap province) had to buy the ticket directly at the counter. Now, with the cashless ticketing, she has tried it and found it easy.

"I don't know how to use it yet, but thanks to the staff's guidance, I can do it slowly. If I have to go in the future, I can do it myself because I only need to enter personal information and pay using the app that is already installed on my phone," said Ms. Hong.

Ms. Trinh Ngoc Thu (30 years old, living in Dong Thap province) shared: "I find that paying for bus tickets without cash has many advantages when I need to go somewhere, any trip, I can do it myself, I don't have to talk much with the ticket seller and paying is also faster".

Continue to replicate throughout the province

The Department of Transport of Dong Thap province said that the implementation of cashless bus ticket payment will be divided into 2 phases. Accordingly, phase 1, implementing cashless bus ticket payment, will start from August 1, 2024.

Phase 2, deploy the use of chip-embedded citizen identification cards to pay for train and bus tickets without using cash (after the chip-embedded citizen identification cards have the function of swiping to pay for train and bus tickets).

In the first phase, the implementation will be implemented at bus stations or transport business units of Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company. After that, it will be expanded to all bus stations and transport business units in the province.

To implement this, the Department of Transport will deploy it in two forms. In which, for the online form, by creating software at the pilot unit for passengers to book tickets: select departure point, destination, travel time, number of tickets, number of seats (beds), shuttle bus... Passengers can choose payment methods through channels: ATM card, Visa card, VNPay, Momo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay...

For offline (direct) form, passengers book tickets through the pilot unit's call center or directly at the ticket counter, the support staff will book tickets for the passengers. Passengers will scan the QRCode after booking tickets and make payment through channels: ATM card, Visa card, Vnpay, Momo, Zalopay, ShopeePay... When customers successfully pay for the ticket, the ticket code will be automatically sent to the customer's phone number...
