Japan lies along the "Pacific Ring of Fire", the world's most active tectonic belt, making it prone to earthquakes and tsunamis.
Within this Ring of Fire, there are several tectonic plates, including the Pacific Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and the Indo-Australian Plate, which are constantly intertwining and colliding with each other, causing earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis.
