Ms. Giang also wanted to completely resolve the bad relationship between her and Mr. Chung, so that everything could return to normal life because the incident had lasted for 7 years. Ms. Giang shared: since her retirement 5 years ago, she has not felt comfortable, her family has not felt comfortable either, especially her colleagues at the Department of Education and Training have had to go to court nearly 10 times in the past 5 years.

Ms. Giang also apologized to her former agency because during her leadership and management, she did not do a good job and did not finish the cases before retiring. Ms. Giang left behind a lawsuit that made it very difficult for her colleagues at the Department, while there was a lot of work and she had to go to court many times, which was costly and very stressful.

Ms. Pham Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang, apologized to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung because the female director of the Department of Education and Training at that time provided information to the press against regulations (before the competent authority concluded the violation). Ms. Binh also said that the Department would agree to jointly compensate Mr. Chung with Ms. Giang for the loss of one million VND.

In April 2018, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Secretary, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province, was disciplined by the Party with a reprimand.

According to the conclusion of the Inspection Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang was not determined to handle the officials who committed violations when Mr. Chung filed a complaint and reflection, did not direct the investigation, verification, and conclusion to handle according to regulations; hastily provided information to the press about Mr. Chung's shortcomings and violations without verification and conclusion. This caused bad public opinion, affecting the reputation and honor of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung and the reputation of the provincialeducation sector.
