Accordingly, patient DTT (Cam Khe district, Phu Tho province) was admitted to the hospital with a swollen abdomen like a pregnant woman, a thin body, and fatigue. Previously, the patient had gone for a check-up and discovered an ovarian tumor.

Due to fear of surgery, the patient listened to the advice of an acquaintance and bought herbal medicine to treat himself at home. After more than a year of taking herbal medicine, the patient's abdomen became increasingly distended, and his limbs became unusually thin, so he stopped taking herbal medicine.

However, this condition did not improve, the abdomen continued to swell, causing difficulty and inconvenience in daily activities. Therefore, the patient went to Phu Tho General Hospital for examination.

Here, doctors from Phu Tho General Hospital examined, consulted and prescribed surgery to remove the ovarian tumor. After about 3 hours of surgery, the doctors successfully removed the 15kg tumor from the patient's abdomen.

After surgery, the patient's condition was stable and he continued to be monitored and treated at the Department of Oncology Surgery, Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital.

BSCKII. Do Manh Hai - Head of Oncology Surgery Department, Phu Tho General Hospital said that ovarian tumors are common and mostly benign. Patient T is a rare case because the tumor is very large, up to 15kg. If not treated, the tumor will compress the surrounding organs, leading to many dangerous complications, even threatening life.

Accordingly, BSCKII. Do Manh Hai also recommends: "When people encounter unusual health problems, they should go to medical facilities to be examined, diagnosed, and advised on appropriate treatment methods by specialized doctors. Absolutely do not buy medicine on your own, especially herbal medicines of unknown origin, medicines advertised, or word of mouth that have not been verified... to avoid dangerous consequences to health."
