At nearly 8am this morning, many people in the capital came to station S8 (opposite the University of Transport) to try the Nhon - Hanoi train. Most of them were elderly people, pupils and students.

Hanoi Railway Company has arranged hundreds of staff at stations to instruct people on how to use ticket cards and take the train.
On the first day of commercial operation of the railway, Mr. Vu Hong Truong - General Director of Hanoi Railway Company asked the staff to take good care of each passenger boarding the train.

Experiencing the train ride this morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (nearly 70 years old) shared that the operation of the Nhon - Hanoi railway line is the desire of the people of the capital.
“After many years of waiting, I was able to take the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway. Hopefully, this railway line will help reduce traffic congestion on Cau Giay - Xuan Thuy - Ho Tung Mau road,” said Ms. Hanh.

As a student at Hanoi University of Industry, Nguyen Duc Viet said that after the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station railway line is put into operation, he will choose to go to school by train. "Taking the train is cool and there is no traffic jam, so it saves a lot of time," Duc Viet said.
According to the decision of Hanoi City, the ticket price for one-way trip is 8,000 VND, for the whole route is 12,000 VND/trip. The daily ticket is 24,000 VND, valid for one day, with no limit on the number of trips.

General tickets 200,000 VND/month; priority tickets for students 100,000 VND/month; group tickets 140,000 VND/month; free for children under 6 years old, meritorious people, people over 60 years old, people with disabilities.
In the first 3 months, Hanoi Railway Company will pick up passengers on the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station route at 5:30 a.m. and close the route at 10 p.m., with trains running every 10 minutes.
The Nhon - Hanoi station metro line is 12.5km long, with 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations; of which, the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi station) is 4km long.
In 2009, when the project started, Hanoi City planned to commercially exploit this metro line in 2015. At that time, the project had a total investment of 783 million Euros.
By 2014, the project's total investment was adjusted to 1.176 billion Euros.
In May 2023, the project's total investment continued to be adjusted to about 1.3 billion Euros; implementation period from 2009 - 2027.
