Regarding static traffic connections and traffic organization, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Transport said that in the first phase, the Department has coordinated with the People's Committees of districts along the route (Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Dong Da, Ba Dinh) to review, arrange points, parking lots, and organize traffic on the route and at the stations. In the next phase, after operating the route based on the actual traffic situation, this connection will continue to be adjusted accordingly. The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway is a radial route, running from the outskirts of the capital deep into the inner city. When put into operation, it will help Hanoi traffic reduce pressure on vehicles, congestion, and pressure on bus routes on the same route.
The entire Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line is 12.5km long with a total investment of VND34,826 billion from ODA capital. Of which, the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Railway Station) is 4km long.
The project started in 2009 and was scheduled to be completed in 2015, but after many delays, the new completion date for the entire line is 2027. According to the technical design of the elevated Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro line, each train consists of 4 carriages, each carriage can carry 236 passengers, and each trip can carry 944 passengers.
When put into operation, this second urban railway line of Hanoi is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the capital when passing through crowded streets such as National Highway 32, Xuan Thuy, and Cau Giay.
