Due to the high cost of airfare, many people choose trains and roads as their means of transportation during the National Day holiday on September 2. A representative of Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that during the September 2 holiday, the company will increase the number of passenger trains to Hai Phong and Lao Cai to meet people's travel needs.

Specifically, the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, in addition to the 4 regular trains, will run 7 more trains. Of which, departing from Hanoi station, there will be an additional train LP9 on August 31 and September 1, and train HP3 on August 31.

In the opposite direction, departing from Hai Phong station, there will be an additional train LP10 on September 1, and a train HP4 on September 2 and 3. Departing from Hai Duong station, there will be an additional train HD2 on September 3.

Hanoi - Lao Cai route, additional train SP7 departs from Hanoi station from August 22 to 30; train SP8 departs from Lao Cai station from August 23 to 31.

Previously, Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that during the September 2 holiday, the railway industry will maintain regular train pairs on the Hanoi - Saigon route and increase trains on other routes.

Hanoi - Thanh Hoa route, additional TH1 train departs from Hanoi station on August 31; TH2 train departs from Thanh Hoa station on September 2 and 3.

Hanoi - Vinh route, additional NA3 train departs from Hanoi station on August 30 and 31; NA4 train departs from Vinh station on September 2 and 3.

Hanoi - Dong Hoi route, two more trains QB1, SE17 departing from Hanoi station on August 30; train QB2 departing from Dong Hoi station on September 2 and 3.

Increase 700 passenger cars to provinces

Meanwhile, the number of passengers choosing to travel by bus during the September 2 holiday is expected to remain the majority. The number of passengers is expected to increase from the time before the holiday (August 30 - 31) and increase again on the afternoon of September 3 and the morning of September 4.

Accordingly, the leader of Giap Bat Bus Station said that on peak days there will be about 20,000 passengers/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on routes to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa... It is expected that this bus station will have about 850-900 trips/day.

On peak days, Gia Lam Bus Station has about 5,000 passengers/day, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days; the expected number of buses is 400 buses/day, mainly focusing on routes such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang...

At My Dinh Bus Station, during peak days, there are expected to be about 22,000 passengers/day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days; the number of buses is expected to be more than 950 buses/day. Passengers depart from My Dinh Bus Station to provinces and cities such as: Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang,...

The total number of additional vehicles is expected to be about 700. Of which, Giap Bat Bus Station will have 220 vehicles, Gia Lam Bus Station will have 80 vehicles and My Dinh Bus Station will have 400 vehicles. The number of additional vehicles will be allocated by day and route depending on the increase in passenger volume.

Airlines add thousands of flights

Not out of the race to increase capacity, airlines on this occasion also added thousands of flights to serve passengers.

Leading the way is Vietnam Airlines. In the four days from August 30 to September 4, this airline increased nearly half a million seats (equivalent to nearly 2,500 flights).

In particular, the airline focuses on increasing the frequency of domestic flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Da Lat, Cam Ranh, between Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, Phu Quoc... The total number of domestic seats reaches 330 thousand seats, equivalent to more than 1,700 flights, an increase of more than 19% over the same period in 2023.

Vietravel Airlines also offers nearly 28,000 seats. A representative of this airline said that the routes with the highest booking rates are Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang/Quy Nhon and Hanoi - Da Nang, Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok.

Vietjet Air plans to increase its capacity by 25,000 seats, equivalent to 120 flights. Vietjet will sell more tickets on many domestic tourist routes to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, etc.
