World Meteorological Day, March 23, was established with the aim of helping people in countries better understand and appreciate the work of national Meteorological and Hydrological Service agencies.

World Meteorological Day 2025 has the theme “Closing the early warning gap together.”

According to the United Nations, in the context of climate change increasing extreme weather events, early warning systems are of vital importance and are key to saving human lives.
