According to information from the Russian state aerospace corporation Roscosmos, the launch took place at 6:20 a.m. Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome (Kazakhstan). Progress MS-28 carried a total of 2,621 kg of supplies, scientific equipment and fresh food for the ISS.

The Progress MS-28 spacecraft is expected to arrive at the ISS in about two days and will dock with the ISS's Zvezda module.

Among the supplies on board are 950kg of propellant, 420 litres of drinking water and 50kg of compressed nitrogen. The spacecraft also carries food, clothing and tools for space science experiments.

In addition, other important scientific instruments will also be brought to the ISS by the Progress MS-28 spacecraft.

Notably, the SPIN-X1-MVN X-ray spectrometer will be installed outside the Zvezda module during the upcoming spacewalk. This instrument will allow scientists to conduct near-complete periodic surveys of the entire sky in the X-ray spectrum.
