Recently, in an interview with TASS news agency, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that "Europe is in the deepest crisis" after the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion.

The Russian diplomat said that Washington is currently the largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe and is determining prices. "Who benefits from the current situation? It is the United States," Ambassador Antonov said.

According to Ambassador Antonov, the world's largest economy forces Europe to be completely dependent on its energy sources, and that brings economic benefits to Washington.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines built to transport gas directly to Germany were hit by a series of explosions in September 2022 by unknown perpetrators.

After the incident, Denmark, Sweden and Germany - the three countries closest to the scene - opened separate investigations, concluding that it was an act of sabotage and refusing to allow Moscow to participate in efforts to find the cause.

However, in February this year, Sweden and Denmark announced the suspension of the investigation into the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion.

Swedish investigators reached no conclusions. Meanwhile, the Danish investigation team concluded that “sabotage” was involved, but did not blame anyone for the attack.
