The moment Ukrainian armored vehicle was destroyed by Russian Lancet

On August 14, a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense showed that the Lancet suicide drone was used by Russia to attack a Ukrainian Stryker infantry fighting vehicle in the Kursk region.

The video footage released shows a Russian suicide drone approaching a Ukrainian military vehicle hidden in a small forest. After the collision, an explosion occurred, with a column of smoke and fire rising several meters high. The moment of the attack was captured by a reconnaissance drone.

Hours after the first video appeared, a second video was released by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The footage shows a military vehicle traveling on a dirt road in a rural area being attacked by a Lancet suicide drone. Another vehicle, parked a few meters away, had to speed away to avoid being attacked and destroyed by the suicide drone.

Russia stops Ukraine's advance

At a press conference on August 14, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Sever Group of Forces (Russia) prevented the Ukrainian army from approaching the settlements of Skrylevka, Levshinka, Semyonovka, Alekseyevskoye, Kamyshnoye. The ministry also noted that two groups of Ukrainian troops on pickup trucks were detected and stopped near the settlement of Martynovka.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, six attacks by the 115th Mechanized Brigade, the 80th and 82nd Air Assault Brigades of Ukraine were also repelled by Russian units near the settlements of Korenevo, Olgovka, Pogrebki, Russkoye Porechnoye and Cherkesskoye Porechnoye.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that the 22nd and 61st Mechanized Brigades and the 92nd Assault Brigade of Ukraine also suffered losses near the settlements of Loknya, Kremyanoye, Oleshnya, Sverdlikovo and Daryino.

It added that Russian airstrikes hit Ukrainian reservists near the settlements of Yunakovka, Sadki, Miropoliye, Khrapovshchina, Mogritsa and Krovnoye in the Sumy region of Ukraine.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 16 armored units, including two tanks, one Stryker armored personnel carrier, 13 armored fighting vehicles, ten motor vehicles and one D-30 122 mm howitzer. 18 Ukrainian soldiers have been taken prisoner," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Since the start of fighting in the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces have lost up to 2,300 Ukrainian troops, 37 tanks, 32 armored personnel carriers, 18 infantry fighting vehicles, 192 armored fighting vehicles, 88 motor vehicles, four air defense missile systems, two MLRS launchers and 15 field guns," the Russian Defense Ministry report said.

The Russian Defense Ministry also released video showing some of Ukraine's recent losses, including captured equipment and airstrikes on Kiev forces in Kursk.

Earlier, in the early morning of August 6, Kiev forces launched an attack on Kursk. Since the start of the surprise attack, at least 12 Russian civilians have been killed and more than 120 others have been injured. In addition, the attack has also displaced 120,000 Russian civilians.

The Russian military has stopped the advance of Kiev forces in the first days of the offensive and is now conducting limited counterattacks to continue to push back the intruders.
