Improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning English through thinking

The training program "Improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning English through thinking" - Linearthinking has about 200 teachers in Hanoi participating.

In order to enhance the capacity of high school English teachers in implementing the 2018 General Education Program, on August 6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in collaboration with the Education and Times Newspaper and the DOL IELTS Dinh Luc English Thinking Academy organized a training program to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning English using Linearthinking.

The program is implemented in the form of training for general English teachers in the capital, supporting teachers to experience and practice new ideas associated with the work of fostering and developing foreign language teaching skills; at the same time, improving the ability to use English in the classroom, thereby improving students' learning outcomes.

According to Ms. Ha Dang Nhu Quynh, the main lecturer of the program (PhD student in Education at the University of Reading, Master of Teaching English at the University of Nottingham, UK), there are currently many English teaching methods in Vietnam imported from abroad, with weaknesses that cause difficulties for students, especially high school students. Many old methods such as accumulating grammar, vocabulary, teaching "practice questions"... rely too much on learning complex vocabulary, difficult to remember, long and difficult to understand sentences. Students applying that learning method often find it difficult to express themselves fluently in a foreign language, sometimes after learning a long passage, they still cannot string together the entire meaning of the component sentences...

Meanwhile, Linearthinking is a method of learning English based on logical thinking, mathematics and research on the influence of the mother tongue on learning foreign languages, applying some super memory techniques to create a particularly effective way of learning English for Vietnamese people, while expanding logical and critical thinking.

At the program, key teachers and representatives of English groups from high schools in the capital city had the first access to the technology platform supporting English learning "Super LMS", a modern method to support consolidating knowledge, helping students do exercises more easily and effectively./.
