The Department stipulates that schools must teach compulsory subjects and educational activities, and elective subjects according to the provisions of the 2018 General Education Program. In addition, depending on each level of education, it organizes consolidation activities for students to complete the learning content, educational activities that meet the needs, interests, and talents of students as well as activities to learn about nature, society, culture, history, and local traditions.

Organize teaching 2 sessions/day, each day arranged no more than 7 periods for primary school and no more than 8 periods for secondary school. Have an educational plan to ensure reasonable allocation between educational contents, helping students complete learning tasks and requirements of the program. Create conditions for students to study elective subjects and participate in educational activities to achieve educational goals.

In particular, it should be noted that the timetable needs to be arranged scientifically, ensuring a reasonable ratio between teaching content and educational activities, and a reasonable allocation of time and time during the school day and school week suitable for the psychology and physiology of the age group, and at the same time suitable for the mobilization and arrangement of teachers (for specialized subjects and other educational activities).

Organizing activities after official school hours during the day must ensure safety, effectiveness, and compliance with the set goals in the form of club activities carried out on the basis of agreement and voluntariness of parents and students and approved by competent authorities.

The plan for organizing boarding activities must have content and form suitable to actual conditions, with the agreement and voluntariness of parents and students, and in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the management agency. Organizing boarding activities must be flexible, and may include activities such as lunch, nap, play, entertainment, etc. for students. And organizing lunch and boarding must ensure regulations on food safety and hygiene, ensuring nutrition and health for students.
