Implement the 2018 program with all grades

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requested provinces and cities to implement the 2018 General Education Program for all grades. In particular, focus on preparing conditions for implementing the 2018 general education program for grades 9 and 12 to ensure completion of the school year program and improve the quality of secondary education. Prepare to organize a review of the implementation of the 2018 general education program for the 2020-2025 period.

The document clearly states a number of specific tasks. In particular, for the implementation of the secondary education program, the Departments of Education and Training must carry out 4 issues including: Developing and implementing the school's education plan; effectively implementing teaching methods and forms; effectively implementing methods and forms of testing, evaluation and improving the quality of career education and orientation.

In order to develop and implement the school's educational plan, secondary schools must develop plans and organize teaching in accordance with the school's teaching staff, facilities, and teaching equipment.

In particular, the Ministry of Education and Training noted that the development and distribution of programs for natural sciences, history, geography, experiential activities, and career guidance must be appropriate to the actual situation to effectively promote the capacity of the school's teaching staff.

In particular, continue to implement the foreign language program according to the 2006 program for students who have not yet learned foreign languages ​​according to the 2018 program.

For elective subjects and elective study topics, schools need to increase the arrangement of separate classes for each elective subject, and organize good counseling for students to register and choose subjects and study topics.

Schools need to develop plans and organize the implementation of school culture, integrate human rights education content, and effectively integrate educational content on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle.

Do not use textbook materials to avoid memorizing literature.

With the requirement to effectively implement testing and assessment methods and forms, first of all, educational institutions need to evaluate according to regulations, not exceeding the requirements of the program.

It is important to develop a testing and evaluation plan that is consistent with the teaching plan; and to increase the implementation of periodic testing and evaluation through practical exercises and learning projects.

For literature, avoid using texts and excerpts learned in textbooks as test materials to assess reading comprehension and writing skills in periodic tests, to overcome the situation where students only memorize lessons or copy content from available documents.

Effective implementation of testing and assessment methods and forms also requires secondary education institutions to strengthen the construction of question banks and matrices for testing according to the requirements of the subject program; prepare 9th grade students to get acquainted with the orientation of the 10th grade entrance exam, and 12th grade students to get acquainted with the high school graduation exam.
