TPO - According to Binh Duong province's planning, Bau Bang district is oriented to be upgraded to a town. This is the northern gateway district of Binh Duong province, connecting with Binh Phuoc province and the Central Highlands region via National Highway 13. Bau Bang is oriented to be a center of innovation and industry.
On August 9, a representative of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that it had issued a decision approving the adjustment of the Bau Bang District Construction Planning task to 2040. This new decision replaces the 2019 and 2021 decisions of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the direct research scope includes the entire administrative boundary of Bau Bang district with a natural area of 34,002.11 hectares, with 7 administrative units including 6 communes (Cay Truong II, Hung Hoa, Lai Hung, Long Nguyen, Tan Hung, Tru Van Tho) and Lai Uyen town. The North borders Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc province); the South borders Ben Cat city; the East borders Phu Giao district; the West borders Dau Tieng district.
According to the decision, the planning scale is 1/25,000. Planning period: Short-term period until 2030, long-term period until 2040.

The decision signed by Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh clearly stated that the objective of approving the adjustment of the planning task is to specify the planning of Binh Duong province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 being implemented; specify the socio-economic development orientations of Bau Bang district; and specify the goal of building new rural districts in the province.
In particular, Bau Bang district is oriented to complete the criteria of a new rural district as a premise to strive in the next stages to achieve the criteria of a type III urban area, becoming a provincial town.
Binh Duong orients Bau Bang to be a district developing in the direction of industry - service - agriculture, prioritizing the development of service industry, in the future becoming the "Innovation - Industrial Center" in the North of Binh Duong province; is the northern gateway district of Binh Duong province, connecting with Binh Phuoc province and the Central Highlands region via National Highway 13.
Bau Bang district plays the role of the Northern Economic Zone of Binh Duong province, has mutual impact and connection with the economic space of Dau Tieng district and Phu Giao district, Ben Cat city; is an industrial development area (multi-industry, agricultural and forestry product processing), developing a regional Cultural - Sports, Healthcare, Education and Training complex, a regional service - trade center, eco-tourism, historical and cultural tourism.
Strive for Bau Bang urban area to meet the criteria of a type III urban area, becoming a town in Binh Duong province. The population forecast by 2030 is about 320,000 - 350,000 people; by 2040, about 480,000 - 500,000 people.

Industrial parks in Bau Bang district have synchronous and modern infrastructure, are conveniently located, adjacent to important traffic axes such as: National Highway 13, My Phuoc Tan Van power road, Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang power road, fully and smoothly connected to Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Long An, neighboring provinces and the Central Highlands.
