Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) has just updated the list of shareholders owning 1% of the bank's charter capital as of August 6, 2024.

According to the updated list, there are 2 institutional shareholders and 2 individual shareholders owning 1% of the bank's charter capital.

Specifically, Gelex Group Joint Stock Company is the largest shareholder, owning more than 85,517 million EIB shares, equivalent to 4.9% of Eximbank's charter capital.

VIX Securities Joint Stock Company holds more than 62,345 million shares, equivalent to 3.58% of Eximbank's charter capital.

Ms. Le Thi Mai Loan, a shareholder related to Bamboo Capital, holds more than 19.94 million shares, equivalent to 1.03%. Ms. Loan's related person also owns 19,540 shares, equivalent to 0.0011%.

The remaining individual shareholder on the list required to report as required by the Law on Credit Institutions is Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu, Vice Chairwoman of Eximbank's Board of Directors. Ms. Tu currently holds more than 19.53 million shares, equivalent to 1.12% of the bank's charter capital.

Notably, the above list no longer includes Thang Phuong JSC, the enterprise holding 3.07% of shares at Eximbank according to the bank's announcement at the end of July.

Thang Phuong Company is said to be related to Bamboo Capital, whose major shareholder is Tracodi JSC, an enterprise whose legal representative is Ms. Le Thi Mai Loan.

Regarding Eximbank's shareholder structure, the State Bank has just approved Gelex Group to buy additional shares in this bank. The transaction will be carried out by order matching and/or negotiation on the HOSE trading system in 2024.

If the transaction is successful, Gelex will increase its stake in Eximbank from 4.9% to 10%.

10% is also the maximum ownership ratio that an institutional shareholder is allowed to have at a credit institution according to the provisions of the Law on Credit Institutions 2024.

Earlier, in early July, the State Bank approved a plan to increase Eximbank's charter capital through the issuance of shares to pay dividends to shareholders. Specifically, Eximbank will issue 121.9 million new shares, equivalent to an increase in charter capital of nearly VND1,219 billion. After the issuance, the bank's charter capital will reach VND18,688 billion.
