This evening, August 6, the signing ceremony of the plan to coordinate the organization of the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper took place at the headquarters of the VGCL.

This is the second year the tournament has been held, aiming to promote the sports movement, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of civil servants, public employees and workers.

According to the organizers, in addition to workers, this year the tournament will be expanded to include civil servants and public employees in public administrative agencies and units and the armed forces.

The names of the teams will be associated with agencies, units and businesses. The tournament will take place over 2 months with 64 teams participating and 160 matches. The final round is expected to be held in Hanoi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10). The prize is expected to be around 930 million VND.

In addition to the official matches, the organizing committee also organizes sideline activities such as entertainment programs, gift giving, medical examination and treatment... for workers and laborers.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that taking care of the material and spiritual life of union members, civil servants, public employees and workers is one of the tasks of the union.

Creating a playground for workers, civil servants and laborers aims to encourage their spirit and motivate them to participate in physical training, improve their cultural and spiritual life; demonstrate their talents; exchange and learn experiences, and strengthen solidarity and cohesion among civil servants, civil servants and laborers.

The 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is also a practical activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).

Through this activity, workers will have better health to work, improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of work and production, contributing to promoting the country's socio-economic development.

According to Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation, football is the number one sport in Vietnam and a tool to connect people. In addition to focusing on top-level football, developing grassroots tournaments is also very important. The football tournament for workers and civil servants not only brings positive energy to workers but also contributes to promoting grassroots football activities, contributing to the development of Vietnamese football.
