In particular, the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen has hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature in some places above 38 degrees such as: Nhu Xuan (Thanh Hoa) 38.1 degrees, Con Cuong (Nghe An) 39.3 degrees, Huong Son (Ha Tinh) 38.6 degrees, Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) 39.0 degrees,...; the lowest relative humidity is 55-65%.
It is forecasted that in the next 2 days (August 9-10), the North will continue to have hot weather, especially in the South of Son La, Hoa Binh and the Northern Delta, with the highest temperature increasing by 1 degree compared to today, at 35-38 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 50-55%.

Also during this period, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen there is hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature from 36-38 degrees, some places over 38 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 45-55%.
The region from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan will have milder heat, with the highest temperature around 35 degrees. The Central Highlands and the South will have sunny days; on August 10, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
According to experts, the Lap Thu season began on August 7 and will last until August 22, 2024, but many northern provinces and cities are experiencing hot and extremely hot days.
Explaining this situation, some experts said that the Lap Thu period is a special time when summer ends and autumn begins. From here, the heat begins to decrease, the weather becomes cooler, but the weather has not yet turned to autumn, so the temperature is still high.
Regarding the weather in the North in the coming days, the meteorological agency said that the hot and dry weather will only last for about 2 more days. From August 11, the widespread heat in the North is likely to end.
Specifically, from the night of August 10 to 18, the North and Thanh Hoa will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain; from the night of August 10 to 14, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some places having heavy to very heavy rain.

On the first day of rain, the temperature will drop sharply, from a high of 38 degrees to 34-35 degrees, then drop further to around 32 degrees. However, due to the prolonged heat, the first few days when it rains, the temperature drops, still feeling hot. Only around August 14-15, when it rains for many days and the highest temperature drops to 30-31 degrees, the feeling of coolness is more obvious.

In addition, the Central region continues to have hot and extremely hot weather. From around August 12-13, the heat is likely to gradually ease.
In the Central Highlands and the South, the days will be sunny, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
