According to the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway is a radial route, running from the outskirts of the capital deep into the inner city. The project is expected to help Hanoi traffic reduce pressure on vehicles, congestion, and reduce pressure on bus routes on the same route. According to the plan to enhance connectivity and passenger transfer by bus completed by the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, there are 36 bus routes operating along the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway route. Of which, 33 are subsidized and 3 are non-subsidized; two passenger transfer points at Cau Giay and Nhon; 32 bus stops with 16 stops on the Cau Giay - Nhon route and 16 stops on the Nhon - Cau Giay route. Previously, on July 30, the Vietnam Railway Authority (Ministry of Transport) issued a Certificate of assessment of the urban railway system safety records for the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line. The entire line currently has an underground section from Cau Giay to Hanoi station that has not been completed. On July 30, the TBM tunnel boring machine began operating. The milestone of operating the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi station urban railway line has ended the "lonely" days of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line. The complementarity between the two metro lines is expected to promote the habit of using public transport of the capital's residents. Regarding the route, the Nhon - Hanoi station and Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro lines will connect at Cat Linh. Hanoi has a plan to build a pedestrian tunnel across Hao Nam street so that passengers from Cat Linh station can go to the S10 underground station. According to the Capital Planning for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050, which was just approved by the Hanoi People's Council on March 29, Hanoi plans to invest in the construction of 14 urban railway lines, an increase of 4 lines compared to the old planning. Meanwhile, mentioned in the draft Master Plan for Investment in the Construction of the Capital's Urban Railway System, Hanoi outlines a roadmap to 2030, the city strives to build and put into operation about 96.8km of urban railway. The total investment for this period is about 14,602 billion USD.Dantri.com.vn
