(Dan Tri) - From his mother's encouragement "you should try acting", Ngo Minh Duc quietly took the acting exam and became the valedictorian of this major at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema.
On July 31, Nam Viet Primary - Secondary - High School, Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to honor teachers, valedictorians and students with high results in the high school graduation exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

This year, 100% of the school's students passed the 2024 high school graduation exam with many candidates achieving high scores above 26 points. Le Quoc Thinh is the valedictorian of block C in Ho Chi Minh City with 28.75 points. Notably, until today, many teachers in the school just learned that Ngo Minh Duc, a student of the school, is the valedictorian of the acting major at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema after the aptitude test a few days ago. Duc became the valedictorian of the acting major with a total score of 27.5 including aptitude score and academic transcript score. Of which, Duc's aptitude score alone was 9 points. Duc said that in his aptitude test, he played the role of a student who had just finished the high school graduation exam and was taking a break, waiting for the results. At that time, he was angry because he lost a game and had just spilled water on the floor. A phone call from his mother reminded him to bring in the clothes that were drying outside because it was about to rain, but he was still subjective because the sky was still blue. It was only when the thunder startled him that he hurriedly ran to get his clothes back and… fell in the puddle of water he had just spilled. Then the panic when he was getting his clothes back and a cockroach flew into him… until the series of expressions when he received the news of his passing exam results.

To take the aptitude test to enter the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, Duc only spent exactly one week studying acting before the exam. Before that, Duc spent time studying in class. Although he did not use his high school graduation exam score this year to apply for university, Duc still scored 27 points for the social science group (three subjects: history, geography, civic education). Mother urged him to compete for... world king title. 1m82 tall, with a good body, in his final year of high school, Ngo Minh Duc won the king title from the school's King & Queen contest. Talking about pursuing an acting career, Duc revealed that since he was little, he often heard his mother say: "You are handsome, have appearance, have ability, it would be a waste if you do not pursue acting."

Hearing that, many people thought that Duc's mother was in the profession, but no, she was a housewife. She cared about and knew about her son's strengths and abilities and knew how to nurture and guide him. I thought it was just a joke from my mother, but when watching a movie or TV show, my mother often analyzed the actor's acting ability for Duc. Gradually, Duc formed the habit of paying attention to the actor's acting, evaluating his acting ability when watching movies and... often learning to act. When they knew Duc intended to pursue acting, many acquaintances discouraged him, saying that it was an unstable job, where you gain today and lose tomorrow... It was my mother who encouraged Duc that if he loved and was determined, he should pursue his dream. Don't let yourself be constrained by other people's judgments or by limits and constraints. "My mother is very good, she even encouraged me to compete in the world king contest. She said it half-jokingly, half-seriously, but I understand that it was her way of motivating her children to dare to overcome their own limits," Duc said with a laugh. Hoping to become famous and earn a lot of money. Recalling the shock he experienced, the male valedictorian said that 3 years ago, due to the impact of Covid-19, Ho Chi Minh City considered the 10th grade exam based on the transcript score instead of the 10th grade exam. In that admission round, Duc failed all 3 wishes to enter the public 10th grade.

Duc calls it "the first sadness in life". In that sadness, Duc understands that this is his fault, he has not tried hard enough in the learning process to prepare for unavoidable situations. Also from that shock, Duc takes a more serious look at studying and improving knowledge. According to Duc, even for men, external beauty has certain advantages, especially in some fields and contexts. However, the values you bring, the comments and evaluations of others will come from within. The most important thing in life is to have knowledge, to have emotions to be able to express to help others understand you and you understand others.

Pursuing the path of acting, the young man Ngo Minh Duc frankly said that in his field, he hopes to become famous in the future. Famous by his own ability and capacity to be able to earn a lot of money to fulfill his wishes for his parents as well as his other plans.
