After more than 28 years of establishment and development, Masan is now the leading enterprise in Vietnam in the consumer retail industry. On August 8, in Ho Chi Minh City, HR Asia Magazine announced the list of outstanding enterprises receiving the "Best Places to Work in Asia 2024" award. This is a prestigious international award on human resources, trusted by many enterprises in the region. This year's theme is "The Definitive Z Choice - Entering a new era with Gen Z", the winning enterprises have reflected the challenges and opportunities from the increase of the Gen Z workforce, creating a multi-generational working environment. The award is organized annually by HR Asia Magazine with a list of participants including 16 countries and major markets in Asia such as Singapore, Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia...

In Vietnam, the survey was conducted at 704 companies with the participation of 53,250 employees from the grassroots level to senior staff such as CEOs and HR directors. These are all businesses that have tirelessly devoted themselves to employee satisfaction, welfare and development. This year, Masan won a "hat-trick" of awards: "Best Workplace in Asia", special categories: "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Enterprises with diverse, equal and inclusive working environments" and "Substainable Workplace - Enterprises with sustainable working environments".

In line with the government's policy, with its position as a leading consumer retail enterprise with a profound impact on more than 100 million Vietnamese people, Masan is committed to striving for the goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2050. Masan has long been deeply aware of its role and responsibility to the community and society and is constantly improving its standards of sustainable development.

In order to contribute to promoting the trend of sustainable development to spread widely in the business community and Vietnamese society, Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine recently organized a vote for all 3 business groups: FDI enterprises, listed enterprises and small and medium enterprises. Enterprises voted into the ranking meet the criteria of: stable growth, environmental protection, corporate governance and social responsibility.

At this year's event, in addition to being included in the list of Top 50 Outstanding Sustainable Development Enterprises of Vietnam 2024, Masan was also honored to win awards in all 3 categories: E - Sustainable resource management; S - Human resource strategy for sustainable development; G - Excellent corporate governance.

Top 500 leading companies in Southeast Asia, excellent Vietnamese enterprises

In June 2024, in the ranking of the top 500 companies in Southeast Asia in 2024 announced for the first time by Fortune Magazine, Masan is the leading company in the consumer - retail sector of essential goods in Vietnam with revenue in 2023 reaching more than 3.2 billion USD.

In addition, in the domestic market, the "Top 50 Excellent Enterprises of Vietnam" are typical enterprises, selected from the list of Top 500 Largest Enterprises in Vietnam (VNR500), which have achieved excellent profits, while maintaining stable and sustainable business performance in the period of 2022-2023. This is also the 8th consecutive year that this prestigious ranking has named Masan. The award has continued to affirm Masan's position in the Vietnamese business community with achievements in revenue scale, along with good capital efficiency, and stable and sustainable profit growth.

Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2024, Masan brought in net revenue of VND 38,989 billion. In the second quarter of 2024, the company recorded a profit after tax of VND 503 billion, nearly 5 times higher than the same period last year and VND 419 billion higher than in 2023. Masan's cash and cash equivalents increased to VND 21,977 billion in the second quarter of 2024, compared to VND 16,919 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023 thanks to improvements in free cash flow and cash flow from financial activities of the company. Notably, free cash flow in the last 12 months increased to VND 7,429 billion in the second quarter of 2024, an increase of 71% over the same period last year, demonstrating the financial strength of the company.

According to the board of directors, looking towards the second half of 2024 and the following years, Masan will continue to persevere in its journey of serving consumers to realize its vision: "Every Vietnamese family has a Masan product, every family in the world has at least one Masan product", elevating the Vietnamese brand on the world culinary map.
