Although the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has issued a document directing strict inspection, many illegal constructions under Binh Than bridge (Van Ninh commune, Gia Binh district) are still blatantly operating.

According to VietNamNet reporters on August 14, a series of illegal constructions such as yards, factories, pig farms and unlicensed concrete mixing stations are still operating openly under Binh Than Bridge. These constructions are built on agricultural land, affecting the flood escape corridor.

Mr. Vu Van Quang - Vice Chairman of Van Ninh Commune People's Committee said: Illegal construction works under Binh Than bridge have been going on for many years. The entire area under Binh Than bridge is agricultural land, but is currently being used for the wrong purpose.
