There is still nearly half a month to go until April 30, however, on social media platforms, the race to "hunt for golden coordinates" - the most convenient location to watch the parade has quickly become a hot keyword, spreading at a dizzying speed. From TikTok to Facebook, a series of videos instructing on tips for choosing a good viewing angle, or sharing experiences in reserving seats, even plans... to sleep overnight on the sidewalk of Le Duan Street (center of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) have attracted millions of views, comments and shares every day.

Typically, on TikTok, the account @thanktrip.com has a video listing many "golden" locations to help viewers easily choose the most suitable and ideal place to watch the parade on the important day of April 30. The account owner uses a humorous voiceover, interspersed with detailed map images illustrating the location, resulting in turning the short video of a few minutes into an indispensable "pocket guide" for many young people.
Notably, a prominent comment under the video said: "You have to wait from 4am to get a good spot, otherwise you will only see... flags flying over other people's heads!" This half-joking, half-serious statement partly reflects the excitement, deep interest and special anticipation of the people for the most important event in our country.
Not only boiling on the Internet, the excited atmosphere has spread to every corner of Ho Chi Minh City. In recent days, central routes such as Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ton Duc Thang, Le Duan have often been congested, not necessarily because of overloaded vehicles, but because of the flow of people coming to "survey the field", hunting for prime locations to watch the parade. Some people brought binoculars, tape measures, and recorded videos "reviewing" the view as if preparing to work for an international event, creating a bustling, bustling atmosphere before the grand ceremony.

At the same time, the number of searches for keywords such as "where to watch the April 30 parade?", "beautiful coordinates to watch the April 30 parade", or "how to reserve a spot for the Ho Chi Minh City parade" has also skyrocketed on Google in the past two weeks. Especially on weekends when the city organizes large-scale rehearsals.
Ms. Minh Hanh (living in Binh Thanh District), a mother of two children, shared: "I was born in 1976, growing up during the period when the country was unified, but my father is a veteran who participated in the resistance war. So for me, the parade is not just an event, but an opportunity to remind the family tradition, so that my children can feel the heroic atmosphere of the unification day. I want them to clearly see the troops marching proudly, hear the drums and music, not just watch it on TV. It is an experience that I believe will stay with them for the rest of their lives."
The event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country is a sacred and emotional moment for the people. It is not simply a ceremony, but an opportunity to relive historical memories, to feel the national pride spread in every step of the parade, every beat of the drum. Therefore, everyone wants to preserve for themselves the most beautiful and solemn moments, as an unforgettable mark in the journey of memories of life.
" I belong to the Gen Z generation, so what I know about April 30 is mainly through the stories of my parents, teachers, or black and white photos in history books ," Duc Nam, a third-year student at Van Lang University, shared while standing in front of the gate of the Independence Palace. " This year, the ceremony is more solemn than ever, and it also marks the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, so I want to witness it with my own eyes and record many memorable moments. Both to create content for my personal TikTok channel and to keep for myself. Who knows, maybe tomorrow, I will tell my children and grandchildren the way my parents told me in the past " - he laughed, and revealed that he had "sought" a beautiful location at a coffee shop near Le Duan Street to watch the parade. At the same time, he carefully planned and prepared everything from a tripod, a spare battery to a specific schedule, all to ensure the best quality footage on this important day.

Although not in Ho Chi Minh City, tourists from neighboring provinces are not far behind in the race to "hunt for golden coordinates" to welcome the parade. According to records, many groups of young people from the West and Southeast regions have planned to "march" to Ho Chi Minh City very early to reserve seats and prepare for the big day. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh (22 years old, student majoring in history - tourism, Dong Thap University) excitedly shared: "After watching the clip on TikTok, we discussed going right away. This is not only an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the grand ceremony, but also an opportunity for us to record materials for study" .
She said the group had planned a detailed itinerary since the 28th: bringing a small tent, dry food, staying at a friend's house so they could reserve a seat early the next morning. "It felt very exciting, like going to a concert, but instead of waiting for our music idols, we were waiting for the marching footsteps, and also a part of the historical memory that we had only learned about in books before," Kim Anh said with a laugh.
Faced with the increasing heat, Ho Chi Minh City has also implemented many solutions to facilitate people and tourists to watch the parade conveniently, safely and solemnly. In addition to the main grandstand with a capacity of 10,000 seats on Le Duan Street, the city has also set up 4 additional grandstands with more than 1,000 additional seats, expanding the viewing space for people in many different areas.
At the same time, more than 20 large LED screens are being installed on central routes as well as in 22 districts and Thu Duc City, aiming to bring a widespread festive atmosphere, spreading the historical spirit to every neighborhood and community.
All these efforts are not only to serve a ceremony, but to ensure that every citizen, whether in the city center or the suburbs, can immerse themselves in the historic moment of half a century, sharing the same heartbeat with the whole country looking forward to the day of reunification. |
