Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on March 26, while patrolling and handling violations of alcohol concentration on the Dong La - Dong Xa inter-commune road, in Dong Vi village, Dong La commune (Dong Hung), the working group of the Cau Nghin Traffic Police Station signaled a young man driving a motorbike to stop. However, this person did not comply but increased the speed, crashed straight into the traffic police force and then fled.

The incident left Captain Ngo Viet Thanh injured and he was taken to the provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. Initial examination determined that he had two broken ribs and scratches on many parts of his body.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leadership of the Provincial Police, Colonel Vu Manh Ha acknowledged and commended Captain Ngo Viet Thanh's sense of responsibility in performing his duties; at the same time, encouraged him to rest assured during his treatment, quickly recover his health and soon return to work. The leadership of the Provincial Police also directed the urgent investigation and strict handling of violators in accordance with legal regulations; requested relevant functional departments to fully resolve the regime and policies, creating the best conditions for comrade Ngo Viet Thanh to undergo treatment and recover.

Immediately after the incident, the task force controlled and arrested the subject. Through verification, the subject was Nguyen Tien Nam (born in 2001), residing in Da Giang village, Nguyen Xa commune (Dong Hung), driving a motorbike with license plate 17B3-469.03. Currently, the authorities are completing the dossier to handle it according to the provisions of the law.
