On the morning of August 2, the opening ceremony of the Asian Conference of the Econometric Society, East Asia and Southeast Asia 2024 (AMES 2024) will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.

This event is organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) in collaboration with the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and Leonard de Vinci Business School (EMLV Business School, France).

AMES 2024 is an international forum with high expertise in econometrics as well as issues in research and application of econometrics in modeling the world economy in general and the Asian region in particular.

According to AVSE Global, econometrics is essential for a rapidly developing country like Vietnam, helping the Government, regulatory agencies and businesses make decisions based on scientific calculations and practical data.

AMES 2024 is a place to introduce selected in-depth research papers, aiming to quantify relationships in the economy as well as assess policy impacts on production and business activities, international trade, and financial markets.

In addition, macro topics such as health economics, education economics or retirement were also discussed at the conference.

The Presidents of AMES 2024 are Professor Nobuhiro Kiyotaki of Princeton University and Professor Nguyen Duc Khuong - Executive Director of EMLV Business School, Director of International Development of De Vinci Higher Education University Complex, Chairman of AVSE Global.

The conference's plenary speakers were renowned scholars in the fields of economics, finance and policy from many of the world's leading universities, such as: Professor Harrison Hong (Columbia University, USA); Professor Charles I. Jones (Stanford Business School, USA); Professor Gilat Levy (London School of Economics and Political Science, UK); Professor Mark W. Watson (Princeton University, USA).

AMES 2024 brings together more than 250 experts and scientists from more than 40 countries. AMES 2024 takes place from August 2 to August 4, and is the first major event organized by the International Econometric Society in Vietnam.
