Civil servants of labor, war invalids and social affairs of Minh Tan commune (Kien Xuong) share the convenience of using ATM cards to receive monthly allowances.

According to Mr. Doan Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Kien Xuong district ( Thai Binh ): In the past time, the district has closely followed the directive documents of the central government and the province to develop and issue a plan to implement non-cash payments for people receiving monthly allowances according to the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Merits and Social Protection.

Departments, offices, units, People's Committees of communes and towns have stepped up propaganda to raise awareness among officials and people about non-cash payment methods. Actively campaigning and propagating so that people understand that switching from cash payment to non-cash payment is a convenient, fast, and time-saving solution.

Minh Tan is one of the communes that has done well in this work. Mr. Tran Van Thi, a civil servant of labor, war invalids and social affairs of the commune, said: As soon as we received the directives from the superiors, we determined that this was an important task that needed to be immediately implemented to bring convenience to policy beneficiaries. The commune People's Committee assigned officials in charge of labor, war invalids and social affairs, along with the police force, to coordinate with the banking sector to organize a conference to propagate the policy of paying social security policies without using cash.

The good news is that people are very in agreement with this policy, so the implementation of opening accounts and making payments has been very favorable. Right at the propaganda conference, nearly 340 people registered to open accounts to receive money via ATM cards. Up to this point, the whole commune has 570 people receiving monthly subsidies via bank accounts.

Ms. Doan Thi Hoi, Nguyet Giam village, Minh Tan commune shared: At first, when I was informed about receiving money via bank card, I was a bit hesitant because I was afraid to approach new technology. But after receiving money through this method a few times, I found it very convenient because it was fast, safe, especially without having to travel or wait for a long time.

Mrs. Hoi's joy is also the common sentiment of most people who are receiving social security policies in Minh Tan commune and many other places in Kien Xuong district. At first, there was confusion, but after doing it many times, everyone got used to it. The majority said that payment through this form is very convenient, safe, accurate and suitable for the development trend of society.

However, Mr. Doan Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Kien Xuong district, also said that although the results achieved up to this point are very good, there are still some difficulties, that is, most of the beneficiaries of social security policies are the elderly and people with disabilities, so they have limited access to information and are afraid to use card services.

Some people do not want to authorize or entrust others to receive benefits through their accounts. The physical facilities and technical infrastructure for beneficiaries to receive non-cash services in localities are still limited.

In the coming time, Kien Xuong district will continue to promote the purpose and meaning of non-cash subsidy payments to beneficiaries, thereby creating consensus among the people, contributing to increasing the number of people receiving monthly social security policy payments through bank accounts.
