Phu Quoc National Park, Kien Giang province has just issued a notice to organizations, individuals, businesses, tourism establishments in Phu Quoc city and tourists to be vigilant and avoid tricks of virtual consulting, collecting money, and defrauding tourists in order to appropriate money and make illegal profits.

The announcement stated: "Recently, on the internet, there have been advertisements for sightseeing and tourism in Phu Quoc National Park, advice on ticket prices for tourist attractions in the National Park, collecting ticket fees and registering for tours. This is a virtual phenomenon, not true. Phu Quoc National Park has no policy and has not organized sightseeing and tourism in the Park. Up to now, Phu Quoc National Park has not received any organizations or individuals to visit."

Mr. Huynh Van Tien, Deputy Director of Phu Quoc National Park, said that the Park would like to inform all organizations and individuals who want to visit and travel to the Park to be vigilant and avoid tricks of virtual consulting, collecting money, and defrauding tourists to appropriate money. When the National Park has a policy of implementing eco-tourism in the Park, there will be an official announcement from the unit to organizations and individuals who come to travel to Phu Quoc. Organizations, individuals, businesses, and tourist establishments with requests should contact Phu Quoc National Park directly for clear explanations and instructions.

Currently, some individuals have created fake websites or fan pages, offering discounts, virtual promotions and asking tourists to transfer deposits in advance. These acts are illegal, causing financial losses to tourists, affecting the image of the tourism industry, and causing public outrage.

Kien Giang provincial authorities recommend that people and tourists carefully research information about tourism service providers in general and tourist accommodation facilities in particular before booking services and making payments. Tourists and people should book services on official websites and fanpages of tourism service providers provided by local tourism management agencies or through reputable service booking platforms to avoid being scammed by bad guys.
