On August 9, Cam Le District Police (Da Nang) said that they had just conducted an inspection and discovered a large number of turtles being kept in captivity in violation of the law.

The incident was discovered on August 5 when the Economic - Environmental Police Team of Cam Le District Police (Da Nang) coordinated with mobile forest rangers to inspect a motel in Hoa Tho Dong Ward.

At this time, the police discovered that Mr. NTH (33 years old, residing in Kien Giang province) was raising and keeping 12 turtles, each weighing over 8kg, in the motel's restroom.

The authorities have drawn up a record and temporarily detained the turtles for investigation and handling according to regulations.
