On August 7, Mr. Nguyen Thanh, Chief Inspector of the Quang Ngai Department of Health, said that through three inspections, the inspection team discovered many dental clinics in the area operating without a license from the Department of Health and employing staff without professional certificates. The Quang Ngai Department of Health has issued a decision to administratively fine the violating establishments a total of VND834 million and suspend their operations.

Previously, the Quang Ngai Department of Health Inspectorate coordinated with the Internal Political Security Department, Quang Ngai Provincial Police, to establish an inspection team, conduct inspections and discover a series of dental and maxillofacial medical facilities in the province that did not have operating licenses and did not comply with regulations on management and use of human resources. Many facilities, despite being "whistled" by the authorities, continued to re-offend.

Specifically, from January 2024 to present, the inspection team has conducted 3 inspections on compliance with legal regulations for non-public medical examination and treatment facilities; cosmetic service facilities in the province. Thereby, many establishments were found to be in violation, mainly dental examination and dental service facilities.

During the inspection in January 2024, the inspection team discovered 6 medical examination and treatment facilities without operating licenses. Of which, in Quang Ngai City, there are 2 facilities: Bao Viet Dental Clinic (Tinh An Commune) and Viet Tien Saigon Dental Clinic (Tinh Khe Commune). In Binh Son District, there are 2 facilities: Viet Han Cosmetic Dental Clinic (in Binh Thanh Commune) and No1 Dental Clinic (Chau O Town). Son Tinh District has facilities: Saigon - Tinh Bac Dental Clinic (Tinh Bac Commune) and Tu Nghia District has a branch of 3T International Dental Company Limited (Song Ve Town).

In particular, Viet Han cosmetic dentistry (in Binh Thanh commune, Binh Son) and Viet Tien Saigon dental clinic (in Tinh Khe commune, Quang Ngai city) still use employees without practice certificates.

Then in July 2024, the inspection team suddenly inspected Minh Nhut Dental Clinic (in Nghia Hoa Commune, Tu Nghia District) and discovered that this facility did not have a business registration certificate or operating license. The owner of the facility only had a medical degree, and his professional activities were participating in first aid and medical examination and treatment according to the functions and duties of a medical practitioner. However, the owner of this facility examined and treated dental and maxillofacial diseases, exceeding the scope of professional activities of the granted diploma.

According to Mr. Thanh, after the inspection conclusion, some illegal dental clinics still did not complete the missing documents and procedures according to the law, but continued to operate, finding ways to cope such as: closing when hearing information about inspection and examination; not cooperating, causing difficulties for the Inspection Team and re-offending many times.

"Given the above reality, in the coming time, the Health Department Inspectorate will continue to coordinate with the Internal Political Security Department and Quang Ngai Provincial Police to establish an inspection team to inspect and strictly handle violations," Mr. Thanh added.
