VHO - On the morning of April 18, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a memorial area and memorial house for comrade Vo Van Tan and comrade Vo Van Ngan and to restore and embellish the national historical site of Duc Hoa Crossroads.

Former President Truong Tan Sang attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Also attending were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat, representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet, leaders and former leaders of Long An province; relatives and families of comrades Vo Van Tan and Vo Van Ngan and many people from all walks of life...

Reporting at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Director of Long An Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the project was approved by Long An Provincial People's Committee with a total investment of 112,867 billion VND from the central and local budgets and other legally mobilized capital sources.

The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2026, including the construction of the Memorial House of Comrade Vo Van Tan and Comrade Vo Van Ngan, the exhibition house, the sculpture of Comrade Vo Van Tan, the construction of Comrade Vo Van Ngan's Tomb; the restoration and embellishment of the Duc Hoa Crossroads Historical Site, auxiliary items and equipment procurement.

The project aims to preserve the original elements of the relic, minimizing the impact of nature and humans on the relic. At the same time, it combines with restoration, reconstruction, landscape and exhibition buildings...

Thereby, reviving to the maximum the important historical, cultural and defense traditional values ​​of the relic to effectively and widely serve the public, domestic and foreign tourists to visit and learn.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Tan Hoa - Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee said that the Duc Hoa Crossroads National Historical Site is the place that marked the largest anti-French demonstration in the South up to that time by 5,000 people of Duc Hoa district on June 4, 1930 under the leadership of the Party.

This is also the place associated with the direct leadership roles of comrade Vo Van Tan, comrade Vo Van Ngan and comrade Chau Van Liem.

Identifying this as a project of special importance, the province has directed the selection of a reputable and experienced consulting unit to ensure the construction of the project is worthy of the great merits and contributions of the comrades to the Vietnamese revolution, Mr. Hoa added.

Thereby, it aims to acknowledge and honor the blood sacrifices and great contributions of revolutionary generations in the struggle for national independence, contributing to fostering patriotism, educating ideals, historical traditions, and revolution for today's and future generations.

Emphasizing that the project is the aspiration of the entire Party Committee and people of the province, Mr. Hoa affirmed that Long An will preserve, embellish and promote the value of the relic associated with the life and glorious revolutionary career of two exemplary senior leaders at the Relic Site.

Turn this place into a place to educate the tradition of patriotism and revolution for generations, especially the young generation. Contribute to improving the spiritual life of people in and outside the province, promoting the development of culture and tourism in the locality and the whole country.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that Long An is not only a province with an important strategic position, but also has a long history, culture and heroic tradition in the fight against foreign invaders.

It is a place where patriotic movements converge, and the names of its outstanding sons have gone down in history. Long An land became the first place to nurture red seeds, in which the two brothers, comrade Vo Van Tan and Vo Van Ngan, are the incarnations of glorious communists.

Mr. Dat praised Long An's efforts in realizing the policy of honoring patriotism and revolutionary spirit, creating the foundation and endogenous strength for today's and future generations in the cause of making the country rise up.

Mr. Dat hopes that Long An will continue to promote its revolutionary tradition, learn from the shining examples of patriotism of previous generations to build a rich and beautiful homeland, worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.
