Fierce battles are taking place in Volchansk
On August 11, AVP reported that fighting in the Kharkiv region was extremely fierce. Russian troops carried out repeated attacks on Ukrainian positions in Volchansk, Kharkiv region.
As part of the Northern Group's operations, missile strikes from missile, bomb and artillery systems increased pressure on Ukrainian forces in this direction.
According to the collected data, the Russian military is using high-precision missiles, aerial bombs, and artillery shells to suppress the resistance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and consolidate their positions. These attacks are aimed at destroying fortifications and ammunition depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Volchansk, located in the Kharkiv region, has become one of the main flashpoints of the conflict, where fierce fighting continues. Local sources have reported severe damage from airstrikes and shelling.
Russian drones operate effectively, destroying many Ukrainian weapons
Over the past week, several Ukrainian military assets have also been destroyed by Russian military Lancet suicide drones. Videos of Ukrainian losses have been made public by Lostarmour.info.
According to data from Lostarmour.info, from August 4 to August 11, Russian Lancet suicide drones damaged or destroyed many weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including: Five self-propelled guns, including a German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000, an American-made M109, and a Polish-made Krab; 11 towed guns, including five American-made M777s; two multiple rocket launchers, including a Soviet-made BM-21 Grad and an American-made LAND-LGR4 mounted on a pickup truck; nine main battle tanks, including a German-made Leopard 1A5; four infantry fighting vehicles, all German-made Marder 1A3s; one American-made M113 armored personnel carrier; four mine-protected vehicles, including one US-made Cougar and three Ukrainian-made Kozaks; one Soviet-made Sterla-10 air defense system; one US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar; three unidentified military vehicles.
Many of these targets were hit in Russia's Kursk region, where Kiev forces launched a surprise attack this week.
The Lancet suicide drone was developed by ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of the Russian defense giant Kalashnikov Concern. The company produces two versions of the suicide drone: the Izdeliye-52, which has a 30-minute endurance and a one-kilogram warhead, and the larger Izdeliye-51, which has a 40-minute endurance and is equipped with a three-kilogram warhead.
The Russian Lancet suicide drone will fly towards the designated area using the GLONASS-supported inertial navigation system. After reaching the designated area, the operator uses the onboard optical-electronic system via a two-way data link to detect, track and lock on the target. The laser rangefinder system will then control the detonation of the warhead.
Ukraine's efforts to stop the Lancet suicide drones with anti-aircraft fire, electronic warfare or other countermeasures have so far been largely unsuccessful.
Lostarmour.info recorded 170 Lancet suicide drone attacks in July. The number of recorded attacks this month has reached 67. It should be noted that many attacks remain classified, which means the actual number of attacks could be much higher.
