Add Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School relic to the list of tourist attractions in the "Windy Capital"
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh - Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: On April 4, 1949, in the middle of the mountains and forests of ATK Viet Bac, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was born. This was the first journalism training facility of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and also the only training facility during the resistance war against French colonialism.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association spoke at the ceremony.
From the first milestone of journalism training at Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, up to now, our country has had more than a dozen training facilities for journalism staff for all four types: Print, radio, television, and electronic newspapers with degrees from bachelor to doctorate. In 1949, we had about ten newspapers with about 300 journalists, but by the end of 2023, the whole country had 6 major multimedia agencies, 127 newspaper agencies, 671 magazine agencies, 72 radio and television agencies and over 40,000 journalists,...
With the desire to continue to preserve and promote the historical value and stature of the Relic, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the School's founding and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Vietnam Journalists Association has directed the Vietnam Press Museum to establish a project to restore and embellish the Relic of the founding site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School from socialized capital.
Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh presented Certificates of Merit to groups and individuals who made great contributions to the project.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association hopes that when put into operation, the exhibitions on Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School and Viet Bac War Zone Press here will not only contribute to preserving and introducing valuable press documents and artifacts from the period 1946-1954 but also affirm the great achievements of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in the struggles to defend the country and in the journey of national construction.
“We plan to coordinate with the authorities to include the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School relic in the list of tourist attractions of the “Windy Capital” - the capital of the country during the resistance war against the French colonialists (including Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan), in which Thai Nguyen holds a particularly important position, the central position of the “Resistance Capital”. We will also step up propaganda to local journalist associations, branches and branches of journalist associations nationwide with the hope that all journalists will clearly see the importance of this relic, thereby considering it a red address for journalists, especially young journalists, to turn to the source, to learn about the heroic history of journalism, listen to stories of generations of predecessors and build for the future of the country's journalism” - journalist Le Quoc Minh said.
The car used by journalist Trinh Hoang Dam (Cuu Quoc Newspaper) at ATK Thai Nguyen from 1950 - 1952 is displayed at the relic site.
In order for the project to come to life and promote the best efficiency, comrade Le Quoc Minh suggested that the Vietnam Press Museum coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, Dai Tu district People's Committee, the Monument Management Board and related units to continue researching and perfecting plans and projects to manage, protect and promote the value of the monument, linking with historical and cultural sites of the Viet Bac war zone in the past, forming a meaningful origin tourism route, commemorating the merits of our ancestors, while experiencing local culture and discovering the beauty of the "Capital of Thousand Winds" in the 50s of the last century in modern times.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh gave a speech at the inauguration ceremony.
The establishment of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is a special milestone in the history of revolutionary journalism in our country. From that simple school, the first journalism class contributed to forming the qualities, bravery, and capacity of many famous journalists who made great contributions to the cause of resistance and national unification, becoming precious bricks that built a solid foundation for Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
