Arriving at Nhon station before 7am, Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan (born in 2000, residing in Cau Giay, Hanoi) was still not the first passenger to experience the newly operated Metro train. In front of her, there were dozens of people lined up in many rows and were excitedly waiting to board this train.

Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan explained: “My office is located on this route. Therefore, traveling on the urban railway will help me save on fuel costs and travel time. For many years, I have been following the construction of this route and today I am very happy to join this first trip.”

That joy is also found in student Pham Thu Lan (20 years old, Hanoi University of Industry). Thanks to this train, Pham Thu Lan can rest assured to go to the lecture hall on time and not have to jostle on crowded buses.

"I asked about the monthly ticket price. Travel time will definitely be reduced a lot compared to having to take the bus like before," Pham Thu Lan added.

According to Hanoi Metro Company Limited, Hanoi city is implementing a project to integrate tickets for public passenger transport, buses with urban railways, and later taxis and grab.

During the first 3 months of operation, the route opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. with a trip every 10 minutes. On the first day of operation, the route will start at 8 a.m. In the following period, depending on passenger demand, adjustments will be made to best meet the travel needs of passengers on the route.

The elevated railway section from Nhon to Cau Giay includes 8 stations: Nhon (S1), Minh Khai (S2), Phu Dien (S3), Cau Dien (S4), Le Duc Tho (S5), National University (S6), Chua Ha (S7), Cau Giay (S8).

Regarding ticket prices, a single ticket will cost 8,000 VND and a full-trip ticket will cost 12,000 VND. A day ticket costs 24,000 VND, valid for one day and has no limit on the number of trips. Monthly tickets (general, priority): General 200,000 VND/month; priority for students is 100,000 VND/month. Group tickets cost 140,000 VND/month.

It is known that in the first 15 days of opening, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway will be free for passengers. On the first morning, passengers on the train were mainly people who came to experience it, not many people were civil servants, office workers going to work, or students going to school by this means.

Hanoi City will exempt children under 6 years old, meritorious people, seniors over 60 years old, and people with disabilities from traveling for free. In particular, during the first 15 days of commercial operation, all passengers will be served for free.
