On the evening of August 10, the People's Committee of Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa province held the opening ceremony of the 3rd fruit festival - 2024 with the theme "Khanh Son convergence - the quintessence of heaven and earth".

Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee, said that the festival aims to introduce and promote the potential and strengths of agriculture and tourism of the district; help farmers connect supply and demand, cooperate and link; introduce the image, people, cuisine and tourism products of the district.

Khanh Son has an area of ​​over 33,850 hectares, located at an altitude of about 1,000m above sea level, 100km southwest of Nha Trang City, with a cool, temperate climate all year round, so the district is considered the "miniature Da Lat" of Khanh Hoa province.

Thanks to favorable natural conditions, Khanh Son has developed many crops and livestock with high economic value, accepted by consumers and the market. In particular, Khanh Son durian has been granted a certificate of trademark registration and voted as "Vietnam's Golden Agricultural Brand in 2019".

In addition, Khanh Son is also known as a land with a tradition of revolutionary struggle associated with historical and cultural relics, and a traditional culture imbued with the identity of the Raglai people. Among the ethnic groups living in Khanh Son, the Raglai people make up the majority with over 73% (more than 20,000 people) of the district's population.

On the opening night, the artists recreated the Raglai cultural space right on the stage. Mr. Dinh Van Dung shared that the opening night art program will bring visitors to Khanh Son, which is on its way to becoming an attractive tourist destination, with a delicate blend of natural landscapes and traditional culture; always welcoming friends and visitors from all over the world to experience many interesting things.

The third fruit festival was held by Khanh Son district for 4 days, from August 10-13. In the festival grounds at 20/11 Square, the organizing committee arranged 60 booths to display the district's high-value fruits such as durian, mangosteen, green-skinned grapefruit, jackfruit, To Nu jackfruit, purple sugarcane... and other valuable items for visitors to shop. The festival also has many special activities such as delicious fruit competitions, reenactment of traditional festivals of the Raglai people; performances and displays of lithophones;...

Through the previous two times of organization, the fruit festival helped Khanh Son create a good impression in the hearts of tourists inside and outside the province. In the first time in 2019, Khanh Son attracted about 10 thousand visitors, the second time welcomed 15 thousand visitors. District leaders expect that the third time of organization will witness an "explosion" in the number of visitors, contributing to the overall success of the fruit festival.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Dung, the locality also focuses on implementing tourism promotion activities, connecting for development cooperation, building tours, calling for investment to implement many key projects and works for tourism development in the area,... In the process of tourism development, Khanh Son aims to attract 22,000 visitors by 2025, build a model of community tourism village, an agricultural ecological destination, and at the same time restore the traditional festival of the Raglai people,... to promote the cultural identity values ​​of ethnic minorities, develop typical agricultural tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that with many distinct competitive advantages, Khanh Son district is gradually becoming a fruit growing area with high economic value in the province and the region.

Along with agricultural development, Khanh Son district needs to promote the preservation of national cultural values, historical and cultural relics, ... and effectively exploit tourism potential, linking production development, cultural preservation and tourism development into a chain of links in socio-economic development to develop the district, soon becoming an "Ecological urban area of ​​mountains and forests" according to the orientation of Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
