Nanning City of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region borders the provinces of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son and Quang Ninh, so Nanning is currently an easily accessible destination for Vietnamese tourists by road.

Specifically, the tourist routes Hanoi - Mong Cai - Thai Binh Ancient Town - Nanning, Hanoi - Huu Nghi - Nanning - Guilin - Yangshuo, Mong Cai - Dongxing - Beihai, Bang Tuong - Thai Binh Ancient Town - Nanning - Dinosaur Park - Y Linh Nham - Thanh Tu Son...

Regarding tourist exchange activities between Nanning and Hanoi tourism enterprises, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism of Nanning City, Truong Chan Vu, informed that in the first 6 months of the year, Nanning tourism enterprises welcomed 300 Vietnamese tourist groups with more than 19,000 visitors.

“In the coming time, to facilitate businesses of the two countries to exchange tourists, the tourism industry of Nanning City will optimize products and entry tourism routes, build one-stop entry tourism service points, thereby creating conditions for Vietnamese businesses to bring tourists to Nanning City for tourism,” Mr. Vu pledged.

In fact, China is one of the key markets for Vietnam's tourism industry in general and Hanoi in particular. Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu informed that in 2023, Hanoi tourism welcomed 4.72 million international tourists, of which 275,879 were Chinese tourists, accounting for 8.3% of the total number of visitors. In the first 6 months of 2024, Hanoi welcomed 241,106 Chinese tourists, accounting for 11.4% of the total number of international visitors to Hanoi.

The number of visitors exchanged between the two sides has recovered significantly in recent times but is still not commensurate with the friendship and good relations between the two sides. However, the potential for tourism development of both sides is still very large and needs to be promoted in the coming time through cooperation.

At the event, Hanoi tourism enterprises signed a cooperation agreement to exchange visitors with Chinese travel enterprises. Deputy General Director of Hon Gai Tourism & Services Joint Stock Company Do Xuan Nguyen stated that this activity creates an opportunity for Nanning and Hanoi tourism enterprises to cooperate to create tourism products linking Hanoi and Nanning, thereby attracting Chinese tourists to choose Hanoi as a destination, thereby promoting sustainable development for the tourism industry in the future.
